About Us

The Sanctuary Park Rescue team at a fundraising event

Safe Now. Loved Forever.

We're a 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, foster-based dog rescue. No shelter and no paid staff: every dog we save lives in someone's home. We started in Brownsville, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley, where there are far more dogs than families to take them. We pull dogs off the street and out of the shelter, get them vetted, spayed or neutered and vaccinated, and then we find them their people. Over 95% of our adoptions are out of state, with USDA-approved transport every other week to the East Coast, the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest. In 2026 so far we've taken in 171 dogs, placed 126 in loving homes and sponsored 39 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries. And we're growing! We're so excited to now have two foster locations, Brownsville, Texas and St. Mary's County, Maryland, which means we can help even more animals. 🐾

Brownsville, Texas

Where it all began. Our Texas fosters are the first soft place a dog lands after the street or the shelter, while they heal and get ready for the road.

Our newest foster base, in southern Maryland! Two foster locations means more dogs we can say yes to, and we couldn't be more excited.
